So who's the artist and who's the friend? (Hint: ducks generally have difficulty threading a needle or holding a brush.)
Now that the mystery is solved, meet my friend, Duckie. He is part of the menagerie I am privileged to share my life here in the beautiful Sierra foothills of northern California.
All my life I have loved drawing, painting, and creating in general and here is my latest venture - Wild Hare Art for Animals. If you buy a piece, great! – I will donate 100% of the proceeds to a worthy animal charity. If you just enjoy looking or are inspired to do your own creative work, also great! If you like what you see, please tell your friends!
Whether drawing, painting, or working with polymer clay, animals are my favorite subjects. You will see several pieces in the gallery with animal themes. Some expand on the idea of animals as totems, others are romantic and/or elaborate, combining the animal images with the luster of gemstones and crystals, and still other are just plain fun. In addition to animals, I enjoy other natural themes such as leaves, flowers, and berries, and sometimes I even venture into the abstract where color and form are in the starring roles. Please enjoy my art, and feel free to contact me with your questions and comments. And, if you are a clayer yourself, happy claying!
Isn't Belle a beauty? I adopter her and her sister, Bonnie, from a local cat shelter. Their elderly owner had passed away, and the loving "family" gathered up the de-clawed cats and just threw them out of the house to fend for themselves! Fortunately, a kind neighbor brought them to the shelter where I was lucky enough to become their new "Chief of Staff."
Here is Belle encouraging me as I work!

Belle likes to keep a close eye on my progress and safe-guards my materials!

Belle is a cat of many interests. Here she is "gardening." Note the overturned orchid in the left of the planter. She is pruning the remains of a fern.
